A captivating vintage print titled “Woodland Goddess” by Joseph Henry Lynch (J.H. Lynch, 1911–1989), one of the most iconic British artists of the 1960s and 70s. Lynch became widely known for his stylised portraits of glamorous women, often presented in exotic or romanticised settings, which were reproduced as decorative prints and became a hallmark of mid-century popular art.
Woodland Goddess depicts a reclining woman draped in a vibrant red wrap, set against a dark and atmospheric woodland backdrop. With her striking features, dramatic pose, and sultry gaze, she embodies Lynch’s signature aesthetic — a blend of fantasy, allure, and kitsch charm.
Lynch’s prints, once found in countless homes and clubs during the mid-20th century, have since become highly collectible for their nostalgic and cultural resonance, capturing the spirit of post-war decorative art.
Condition:
Presented in its original vintage frame with linen mount, in good condition with light wear consistent with age.
