Refund policy

Disclaimer: Note that our Images form part of the item/s description. Although all effort is made to refurbish our furniture to best represent its original state, it must be noted that the majority of the items we source date between the 1950s to late 1970s. For this reason and although restored, signs of their vintage condition & age might still be visible. Most of our pieces are, for this reason, sold under the term Voetstoots. Items for sale are available for viewing before purchase.

  • We operate in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). Returns and refunds will therefore only be considered where they fall within the circumstances provided for in these Acts.

    As a seller of vintage and second-hand goods, items are sold in their disclosed condition and may show signs of age, use, patina, restoration, or historical wear. Where the condition of an item has been clearly described and accepted at the time of purchase, change-of-mind returns are not catered for.

    A general right of return for second-hand goods is therefore not offered, unless the return falls within the circumstances provided for in the CPA or ECTA, such as where goods are defective or materially different from what was described.

    Customers are encouraged to review all photographs, descriptions, measurements, and condition notes carefully before purchasing. By completing a purchase, the customer confirms that the condition and characteristics of the item have been accepted as described.

  • Items purchased on sale or promotion are not eligible for return or refund due to a change of mind. This does not affect a customer’s rights under the Consumer Protection Act where goods are defective or materially different from what was described.

  • Returns or refunds relating to shipping arrangements, courier delays, or courier costs are not covered. Shipping quotations are provided separately where applicable.

    We do not offer store credit.
    We do not offer lay-buy's.

    Refunds relating to transactions paid through third-party payment providers (including Payflex) will be processed in accordance with the payment provider’s procedures and applicable law.

    If a return is accepted, the refund will be processed via the original payment gateway used for the transaction, or alternatively via EFT should the gateway not permit the refund.

    Approved refunds will attract an administration and transaction fee of 5% of the order value, which covers payment gateway charges, banking costs, and administrative expenses incurred in processing the transaction and refund.

    Where a return of goods is accepted, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was supplied, unused, and with proof of purchase. Any shipping or courier costs associated with returning goods are for the buyer’s account, unless otherwise agreed with Re-Trend.

ALL ITEMS BOUGHT MUST BE COLLECTED / DELIVERED WITHIN THREE DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE (UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED BETWEEN PARTIES)

If no communication is received and no agreement on storage is reached between both parties and goods are not collected within 2 weeks, the goods will be re-listed for sale, and should a refund be due (after the successful sale) a deduction of 45% on the re-listed selling price (and the initial 5% above) will apply to comply with admin fees, packaging fees, bank fees, VAT implications, online fees, and storage space.
