A charming vintage “Treble” measuring tape (50ft long) by Chesterman of Sheffield, England, originally designed as a heavy duty land and building measuring tool. The long woven tape is housed in its original stitched brown leather casing, finished with metal fittings and a classic wind up mechanism.
The 50 ft tape is marked in feet and inches, reflecting its original British imperial measurement system. While the tape still extends and retracts, today it is best appreciated as a decorative collectible rather than a precision measuring tool. Its utilitarian design, aged leather and original working details give it plenty of nostalgic character, making it a great addition to a study, workshop display, sewing room or vintage inspired interior.
Condition:
In good vintage condition. The first approximately 1 ft section of the tape shows some wear from use, while the remainder is in remarkably pristine condition. The leather casing also shows visible age related wear and patina, adding to the authentic character and charm of the piece.
Dimensions:
11.5cm Diameter x 3.5cm H

Note/Disclaimer:
Our images form part of the item description. While we make every effort to restore our furniture to its original state, most pieces date from the 1950s to the late 1970s. As a result, and despite restoration, signs of their vintage nature and previous life may still be visible. Light traces of restoration may remain visible, consistent with authentic vintage furniture. In some cases, minor adjustments may also have been made during the restoration process to ensure the piece remains functional and usable. We will point out any notable aspects where possible. We encourage in-store viewing or careful review of photographs before purchase.
