A gorgeous modernist “Lapid” pottery vase.
This very Rare vase by “Lapid, Israel” was hand-painted by “Ran”. Perfect as a vase or decor piece. Lapid pottery produced in Israel was free of lead and one of only a handful during that period to be able to produce lead-free pottery.
Lapid Pottery was formed in 1944 during British Mandate to Israel. The year 1949 was an important year for pottery when Dr. K. Moosberg became a main partner in the factory and the factory changed its original goal of making tiles and sanitary wares – to producing Art Pottery which is the Lapid Pottery most people are now familiar with. They were produced in the Mid-Century period.
The piece is in superb condition and holds the maker’s mark at the bottom.
