A Sapele Mahogany Mid-Century office desk with wishbone-style legs, four drawers a lockable cabinet and one open storage cabinet. The cabinet space, on the right, can be locked which is great for the safe keeping of sensitive documents and data. This cabinet fits a lever arch file. The cabinet lock has been replaced. Ample working space, It also features a built-in footrest (see photos).

The wood has been restored and sealed, repaired for age-related damages,  and it is in good functional condition. The only noteworthy aspect of this desk is that it has a dip towards the centre. Note the photos, however, this does not detract from the structural sturdiness of the desk. A few minor marks are visible consistent with age and use, but all refinished to the best of our ability.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, of the old veneer, was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition, and thickness of the veneer itself.
