A beautifully engineered and minimalist table lamp designed by Tada Kiko for Taki Light in Japan during the 1960s. The Iris TL-84 model embodies the elegant simplicity and functionality characteristic of post-war Japanese design.
The lamp’s clever design allows for full adjustability — with two pivot joints on the arm enabling changes in both height and depth, while the head can be tilted and rotated for precise lighting direction. The weighted base incorporates a discreet wall-mount hook for versatile use, whether as a desk, bedside, or wall-mounted light.
Featuring a two-stage switch at the base (LO and HI settings), the lamp provides both ambient and task lighting options. Its poetic name combines “Taki,” meaning waterfall, and “Iris,” the flower — together evoking the image of a cascading bloom of light.
A rare and collectible example of Japanese modern design — refined, functional, and quietly sculptural.
