Mid-century Modern, “Swiss Magic Box” in Teak. Swiss designers Mummenthaler & Meier solved a problem, which certainly seems relevant today, with the iconic ‘Magic box’ foldaway desk manufactured during the 1950s. It unfolds into a full office!
This magic box comprises a folding, pull-out desk with storage under the desk using a handy pull-out tray, a drawer, countless cubby holes, shelves, and organizers a simple cupboard quickly opens up into a fantastic workspace.
Once folded away, the cupboard itself has an attractive grain, rich in color and the day's work disappears with ease!
The Magic Box Teak has been fully restored and sealed with a Rubio Monocoat. It is in great vintage condition. The inner wood has been carefully restored, some minor wear visible consistent with age and use.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness the quality of the old veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
