This elegant 3-seater, two-division Mid-Century couch was crafted in South Africa by Lubis in the late 1960s to early 1970s. Made from solid Kiaat, the frame showcases bold, clean lines and distinctive inset, floating arm panels that highlight the beauty of the wood grain.
The piece has been completely restored, refurbished, and sealed, and is now upholstered in a luxurious 'midnight' navy fabric with a velvet-to-the-touch feel, offering a fresh yet timeless appeal.
Offering a relaxed seating experience with a subtly angled backrest, encouraging a comfortable, laid-back posture rather than an upright sitting position.
The couch comes with two scatter cushions in a complementary blue and white pattern for a cohesive finishing touch.
Lubis was a respected South African maker known for quality craftsmanship and enduring design. Their work often reflects the influence of Scandinavian modernism — clean lines, functional forms, and a focus on craftsmanship — while using locally sourced woods like Kiaat. This piece stands as a true example of that refined aesthetic.

Beautifully restored and built to last, this couch is in excellent condition and ready to serve another lifetime of use.
Note: Previous dowel repair marks, possibly from a past restoration, are visible, though mainly on the back legs of the couch. We have completed a thorough restoration and also worked to minimize these effects as much as possible.
