A refined and quietly elegant extendable dining table in warm teak, carrying the restrained sophistication so closely associated with British modernist furniture design of the 1960s. While unconfirmed, the piece strongly echoes the work of McIntosh of Kirkcaldy, particularly in its softly sculpted underframe, tapered legs, and clean, balanced proportions.
The design is understated yet exceptionally well resolved. Slim, gently tapering legs meet the apron through beautifully shaped corner transitions, giving the table a subtle architectural lightness despite its solid presence.
A cleverly concealed extension mechanism allows the table to expand with ease, revealing an integrated fold out leaf neatly stored beneath the top when not in use. Once extended, the proportions remain balanced and visually uninterrupted, a hallmark of thoughtful mid century engineering.
Versatile in scale and timeless in tone, the table lends itself equally well to everyday dining or more considered entertaining. Perfect for small space living.
Fully restored and refinished, the table presents beautifully, with only light, age related patina remaining consistent with its vintage origin.

Note/Disclaimer:
Our images form part of the item description. While we make every effort to restore our furniture to its original state, most pieces date from the 1950s to the late 1970s. As a result, and despite restoration, signs of their vintage nature and previous life may still be visible. Light traces of restoration may remain visible, consistent with authentic vintage furniture. In some cases, minor adjustments may also have been made during the restoration process to ensure the piece remains functional and usable. We will point out any notable aspects where possible. We encourage in-store viewing or careful review of photographs before purchase.

As with many Mid-Century pieces, this item features a thoughtful combination of solid wood and high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a long and respected tradition in furniture making, valued for both its aesthetic and structural benefits. When crafted with skill and applied in substantial thickness, vintage veneer proves highly durable, allowing for careful restoration, including retouching, sanding, and refinishing without compromising the integrity of the piece.
