A refined duo of vintage Parker Knoll high-back armchairs, showcasing the timeless British craftsmanship and understated elegance for which the renowned maker is celebrated.
Their graceful, gently swept high backs, sculpted solid wood arms and elegantly tapered legs create a silhouette that is both inviting and unmistakably mid-century in character, while the distinctive three-button detail positioned along the right-hand side of each backrest adds a subtle touch of tailored sophistication.
These chairs have been comprehensively restored and then reupholstered in a luxurious Hertex soft touch fabric in a warm golden ochre tone, bringing new life to their classic form. New foam has been fitted, ensuring comfort and support while preserving the chairs' original proportions.
Founded in 1869, Parker Knoll became one of Britain's most respected furniture manufacturers, renowned for producing exceptionally comfortable upholstered seating of enduring quality. Their designs are celebrated for combining refined styling with expert craftsmanship, making vintage Parker Knoll pieces as desirable today as when they first left the factory.
The chairs work exceptionally well as a matching pair, although they are sold separately.
*There is a slight variation in the shape of the front base beneath the seat cushion between the two chairs, a subtle manufacturing difference that does not detract from their appearance or function when displayed together.
Condition:
Wood fully restored and both chairs reinforced and stabilized - upholstered in Hertex fabric. As noted, there is a slight difference in the front base profile below the seat cushion between the two chairs, while otherwise presenting as a complementary pair.

As a result, and despite restoration, signs of their vintage nature and previous life may still be visible. Light traces of restoration may remain visible, consistent with authentic vintage furniture. In some cases, minor adjustments may also have been made during the restoration process to ensure the piece remains functional and usable. We will point out any notable aspects where possible. Once items leave our premises, we cannot take responsibility for their treatment by third-party transporters. We strongly recommend arranging goods-in-transit insurance for comprehensive protection.
Due to the fragility of glass, we do not recommend shipping glass items outside of Gauteng.
