The meticulously crafted dipped armrests, seamlessly merge with the rest of the frame, showcasing unparalleled craftsmanship. The frame continues around the back of the couch, making this piece attractive from any angle.
The wooden frames exude a sense of lasting beauty and have been fully restored and sealed in Rubio Monocoat. The upholstery has been replaced and the fabric choice is a striking Black & White Houndstooth fabric from Hertex Fabrics.
These chairs hold a remarkable backstory relating to the provenance, that enhances its appeal. Given the predominant style and craftsmanship, it is highly likely of Danish origin. Its journey adds an intriguing dimension: originally owned by individuals residing in the Netherlands, it was brought to South Africa during their relocation in the 1970s. Interestingly, many other items obtained from the same owners also hail from Denmark, underscoring the strong Danish influence in their collection. Thus, while its temporary stay in the Netherlands adds a unique twist to its history, the inherent Danish origins shine through, promising a blend of timeless design and aesthetic appeal.
