A beautifully crafted “Novocraft” extendable dining table, locally produced in South Africa during the 1960s. Showcasing the clean lines and refined proportions of Mid Century design, this six to eight seater is distinguished by its softly rounded rectangular top and elegant sculptural trestle base.
Designed with everyday practicality in mind, the table extends with a concealed centre leaf, transforming it from a comfortable family dining table into a generous setting for larger gatherings. The extension mechanism operates smoothly, while the leaf stores neatly within the table when not in use.
A standout feature is the centred pedestal base with its gracefully curved feet. Unlike traditional four leg dining tables, this design allows chairs to be positioned more freely around the table, comfortably accommodating additional guests without corner legs getting in the way.
The wood has been fully restored and resealed, bringing out the warmth and richness of its beautifully figured grain while preserving the timeless character of the piece. A versatile dining table that balances quality South African craftsmanship with authentic Mid Century style.
