A stunning example of timeless Mid-Century design, this modular wall unit embodies impeccable craftsmanship and unmatched versatility. Its clever design features a supporting structure that connects seamlessly from the floor to your ceiling. The unit comprises four steel-framed, wood-veneered uprights, six wooden cabinets, and seven shelves, offering both functionality and endless adaptability.
Whether you envision it as a drinks cabinet, media centre, bookshelf, display unit, workspace, or a combination of these, this system is designed to meet your needs and suit your style.
Restored in a warm Walnut finish with sleek steel accents, this modular unit exudes a vintage aesthetic. The six unique cabinets include:
- One drop-front cabinet, perfect as a workspace or for preparing drinks, featuring internal shelving and storage compartments.
- Two cabinets with glass sliding doors and a central glass shelf, ideal for displaying and storing items.
- Three two-door cabinets, each with internal shelving for practical storage.
- Seven spacious shelves provide ample room to showcase books, art, or collectibles. The adjustable components allow you to configure the unit to fit your space and specific purpose.
- A top pelmet-style surround completes the design with a polished finish.
*Note: for the purposes of the photos, we had to let the top surround rest on some of the shelves as our ceiling height in this room is angled and did not fit. The unit set-up would require a minimum of 2 persons.
Important Key dimensions and features:
-
The maximum height that this unit can extend to is: 292 cm.
- The steel adjustable fittings enable customization to suit lower ceiling heights (due to the clever design of the steel adjustable fittings (that connect to the bottom and top of the 4 uprights)
- For ceilings higher than 292 cm, additional extensions (such as wooden blocks) will be required to ensure stability.
The wood has been carefully stripped, sanded, restored, and sealed, preserving its natural warmth and ensuring lasting quality. While the unit is in great vintage and restored condition, the one drop-front door along with an upright or two, had more damage and we employed every possible technique to restore it to its best form. Though fully repaired, subtle signs of the restoration are visible in places, adding character without detracting from the piece's overall appeal. Overall it is not very noticeable, but it must be noted.

As with most Mid-Century pieces and a hallmark of the era, it is a combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a rich history in furniture design, is admired for its craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetic appeal, and is a long and honorable tradition. The quality of the veneer's artistry was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished..
