Skovby, founded in 1933, has a long-standing reputation for creating functional, contemporary furniture of the highest caliber, and this dining table is no exception.
An exquisite Danish-made dining table. A meticulously crafted table by renowned Danish furniture makers, "Skovby". This rare double-extending dining table seamlessly combines sophistication with practicality, offering versatility for any occasion. Capable of seating up to 10 or 12 people, it extends to three different lengths, making it perfect for both intimate and larger gatherings. These sell for over R42000 internationally.
The table's extension process is smooth and ingenious: simply slide the tabletop outward, and it gracefully opens to reveal two concealed leaves stored inside. Depending on your needs, one or both leaves can be added, extending the table to accommodate your guests depending on the size of your gathering.
Original finished oak with the grain elegantly enhanced. The T-shaped column leg support not only adds style but also provides ample space for chairs to fit seamlessly underneath.
When not extended, the table's compact size makes it ideal for smaller spaces, offering a practical and stylish solution for modern living.
Perfect for gatherings of family and friends, the table’s versatility allows it to transition effortlessly between a cozy dining space for couples and a large table for entertaining guests.
Though the paper label is no longer intact, this table undoubtedly reflects the exceptional craftsmanship Skovby is known for, with timeless appeal and innovative design.

As with most Mid-Century pieces and a hallmark of the era, it is a combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a rich history in furniture design, is admired for its craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetic appeal and is a long and honorable tradition. The quality of the veneer's artistry was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
