The wood has been restored and sealed and the chest is in good restored condition. Some damage on the top was repaired as best as possible, however not highly visible.
The front view, drawers etc of this chest is in superb condition.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
