A beautiful Mid-Century Sapele Mahogany sideboard made by DS Vorster circa 1960's. This renowned SA manufacturer was responsible for the Blue Train interiors and classic Mid-Century local furniture with clean lines.
Ample storage space provided in 2 cabinets with doors and three drawers of which two have cutlery dividers. Note the handle detail. The wood has been carefully stripped, sanded, restored and sealed. NOTE: The sideboard is in good vintage condition, but we have noticed a slight dip towards the center of the sideboard. Structurally it is very sound and should not dip any further. Priced accordingly. It is available for viewing prior to purchase.
186cm X 52cm X 77h
As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.

For this reason and although restored, signs of their vintage condition & age might still be visible. We will normally point out any visible/notable concerns.
