A pair of exceptional mid-century slipper/lounge chairs that were designed by Jørgen Bækmark for FDB Møbler. Featuring floating seats, nestled inside the solid frames, attached with beautiful brass fittings. These chairs offer an extremely comfortable, armless design. A simplistic, yet fantastic design whereby each chair sits neatly only on 6 brass brackets. Great to add to any lounge, office, or bedroom space.
Jørgen Bækmark said, "When designing furniture, you should really think about how it is going to be manufactured as well as demand and price. But sometimes I just draw pieces I like looking at and sitting in.”
“Jørgen Bækmark (b. 1929 - 2021) is responsible for several pieces of iconic Danish furniture. From 1958 and nine years onwards, he headed FDB Møbler’s design studio where he helped make design-led furniture affordable for everyone. Based on the tradition of Danish design, his furniture is distinguished by a beautiful, calm style and sound craftsmanship with an eye for detail. His furniture exudes unique harmony, exemplified by his classic dining chairs J80 and J81. Perhaps most importantly, Jørgen Bækmark has always endeavored to make furniture that is comfortable to sit in”.
