A gorgeous Mid-Century Oak armchair manufactured locally by Bakker & Steyger during the 60's. Note the typical period detail of the frame and rounded arms. To complement this period detail, the chair was reupholstered in Hertex: Reflex with pattern and colour to suit the style. This chair will definitely be that statement piece in the room and will fit in with most decor styles.
The wooden frame has been restored and sealed and the piece is in excellent vintage condition.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
