A very versatile Mid-Century Omnia, Modular Unit. This unit was manufactured in Germany by Ernest Dieter Hilker during the 1960s. Surprisingly this one is in an "Ash Wood" finish and and makes quite a statement. Rather refreshing since most of these modular units are usually finished in a darker wood.
This mid-century piece originating from Germany by Dieter Hilker, reflects a dynamic era in design history, marked by the merging of various cultural influences to produce a unique style that continues to captivate and resonate with many even today.

The unit as it stands in "OUR" photos, features:

For the photo, we have not secured the unit to our wall, however, it has to be secured to a wall for stability.
PLEASE NOTE: We have 8 additional shelves that will accompany the unit as well as two additional string"legs" (see photo) and two additional string wall mountable uprights (see photo).
This unit has been fully restored & refurbished and is in great restored condition considering the work involved and the period of the piece. Some slight traces of use are visible consistent with its age.

*The unit is dismantled, as we did not drill to secure it for the purposes of the photo, however, all the components are available for viewing.

Shipment outside Gauteng is not calculated at check-out. When purchasing an item and you are based in either Cape Town, Durban, or outside Gauteng, select 'LOCAL PICK-UP' at check-out (DO NOT SELECT A SHIPMENT OPTION). Delivery to these areas is quoted based on the dimensions of the item/s bought.
We can unfortunately not reserve any items until such a time that transport or shipping has been finalized. The item should be purchased and checked out. After your purchase, we can assist you with costs to these areas from our preferred suppliers, alternatively kindly arrange your own method of transport. Refer to our shipping policy.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness the quality of the old veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
