A truly beautiful Novocraft dining table, crafted from richly toned Sapele Mahogany and designed with compact living in mind. Its simple round form, gently tapered legs, and warm timber finish give it an easy, versatile look that works well across both vintage and contemporary interiors.
In its round format, the table has a compact footprint while comfortably accommodating four people (and seating 6 when dining), making it a practical choice for smaller dining areas or apartments. When you need additional seating, a fitted extension leaf folds out, transforming the table from round to oval and providing ample space for six dining chairs. When paired with the six matching Novocraft chairs, available separately, the table comfortably accommodates all six for dining. Due to the design of the table base, not all six chairs tuck fully underneath when not in use. Please refer to the photos for how the full set sits together
The Sapele Mahogany has a lovely natural grain and depth of colour, complemented by the darker edge detail around the tabletop. The tapered legs keep the overall profile light and well proportioned, even when the table is extended.
The Novocraft dining chairs pictured in some of the photos would complete the set perfectly and are available to purchase separately here.
Condition:
The table has been fully restored, with the timber stripped, sanded and resealed to revive the warm tones and natural grain of the Sapele Mahogany. It presents in excellent restored vintage condition, ready for everyday use.
Dimensions:

Note/Disclaimer:
Our images form part of the item description. While we make every effort to restore our furniture to its original state, most pieces date from the 1950s to the late 1970s. As a result, and despite restoration, signs of their vintage nature and previous life may still be visible. Light traces of restoration may remain visible, consistent with authentic vintage furniture. In some cases, minor adjustments may also have been made during the restoration process to ensure the piece remains functional and usable. We will point out any notable aspects where possible. We encourage in-store viewing or careful review of photographs before purchase.
Transport & Handling Note:
We carefully wrap and prepare all items for transport (not the courier) to ensure safe handling. Once items leave our premises, we cannot take responsibility for their treatment by third-party transporters. We strongly recommend arranging goods-in-transit insurance for comprehensive protection.
Due to the fragility of glass, we do not recommend shipping glass items outside of Gauteng.

As with many Mid-Century pieces, this item features a thoughtful combination of solid wood and high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a long and respected tradition in furniture making, valued for both its aesthetic and structural benefits. When crafted with skill and applied in substantial thickness, vintage veneer proves highly durable, allowing for careful restoration, including retouching, sanding, and refinishing without compromising the integrity of the piece.
