Rare and an elegant writing bureau constructed to a high standard in Maple / Beech. Reminiscent of a Danish-designed bureau, or could very well be a “Duros” made piece circa 1960’s, but unfortunately the makers mark is not longer intact. The drop-down door becomes your workspace surface area and it has multiple compartments behind the drop-down door with two additional drawers below that can be used as storage space.
The wood has been fully restored and sealed and the item is in great restored condition. A new lock in the drop front door had to be fitted. No drawer locks.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition, and thickness of the veneer itself.
