The price is for the set

A warm and beautifully proportioned vintage dining set crafted in Kiaat, comprising a generous round dining table and six matching dining chairs. The simplicity of the design allows the rich colour and natural grain of the Kiaat to take centre stage.

The round dining table features a broad circular top supported by a sculpted central pedestal, flowing into four gently tapered feet. The pedestal base keeps the space beneath the table open and uncluttered, while also allowing the six chairs to sit comfortably around it. The table is a fixed round design and does not extend.

The six chairs have well-proportioned timber frames with gently curved back supports and upholstered back panels, finished with wooden doweled detailing along the sides. Their open, lightweight form works particularly well with the substantial round table.

The chairs have been newly reupholstered in a textured forest green fabric from Hertex, a rich earthy shade that complements the warm Kiaat tones while giving the suite a fresh contemporary feel.

Condition:

The complete suite has been restored, with the timber carefully refinished to revive the grain and warmth of the Kiaat. The chairs have been newly upholstered, and the set presents in very well-restored vintage condition, with minor signs of age and previous use here and there, best addressed in our workshop.

As with many Mid-Century pieces, this item features a thoughtful combination of solid wood and high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a long and respected tradition in furniture making, valued for both its aesthetic and structural benefits. When crafted with skill and applied in substantial thickness, vintage veneer proves highly durable, allowing for careful restoration, including retouching, sanding, and refinishing without compromising the integrity of the piece.
