A classic, Mid-Century Modern Writing Bureau by esteemed British manufacturers Elliotts of Newbury . The clean and simple lines of the piece add understated class to any room. The company was founded by Samuel Elliott in 1870 as a joinery works, Elliott's Moulding and Joinery Company Ltd. It produced ammunition boxes during the First World War made by a workforce composed 90% of women. It changed to furniture production of great quality and design, after the war.
A desirable piece with a drop-down front with spacious workspace and a letter rack that can be used for stationery, books, etc. Ample storage provided in a good-sized drawer and a two-door cupboard with space for lever-arch file.
Restored and in excellent vintage condition.
