A masterfully crafted Mid-Century Modern dressing table with matching stool, attributed to the Scandinavian and British design traditions of the 1960s.
This is a rare and distinctive piece - timeless in form, practical in use, and certain to become the focal point of any modern bedroom or dressing space.
While unmarked, the piece reflects the sophisticated aesthetic language of designers such as Kai Kristiansen, Arne Vodder, and Arthur Edwards (White & Newton), combining utility with sculptural elegance.
Crafted in richly toned teak, this dressing table features a distinctive drawer configuration: a deep double-height drawer on the left, complemented by shallower drawers across the center and right - balancing visual harmony with practical storage.
Signature features include:
- Crisp, recessed linear drawer pulls, precision-carved into flat-front facades
- Tapered solid teak legs, turned and balanced with elegant poise
- Arched apron detailing, a refined architectural touch rarely seen in production furniture
- Full-width mirror, framed in matching teak for a seamless visual flow
- Matching stool, upholstered in a soft boucle-style fabric, perfectly fitted to tuck beneath the table.
The clean lines, minimalistic detailing, and emphasis on function over ornamentation are clear hallmarks of Scandinavian modernist design, but the proportions and joinery also suggest boutique British cabinetmaking, likely from a studio rather than a high-volume manufacturer.
A large tiltable, rectangular mirror spans the width of the dresser, framed in matching wood, reflecting natural light and giving the room a spacious feel.

The wood has been restored, repaired, and re-sealed. Overall, this piece is in great restored condition with minor signs of previous wear. The original mirror shows some minor age-related imperfections.

Note/Disclaimer:
Our images form part of the item/s description. Although every effort is made to refurbish our furniture to represent its original state best, it must be noted that most of the items we source date from the 1950s to the late 1970s. For this reason, and although restored, signs of their vintage condition & age might still be visible. We will normally point out any visible/notable concerns. Take note of all photos or view the item in-store prior to purchasing.
As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness. The quality of the old veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded, and refinished.
