A beautifully proportioned set of 6 mid-century dining chairs, crafted in solid timber and defined by its refined spindle-back design.
The backrests of each chair feature a series of elegantly shaped vertical spindles, each gently sculpted to create both visual rhythm and ergonomic support, framed by a softly curved top rail. This lighter, more open structure allows the chairs to feel effortless within a space, while still offering a strong design presence.
Influenced by Scandinavian design principles of the 1960s, the chair balances simplicity with craftsmanship, seen in the clean joinery, tapered legs, and subtle stretcher supports that add stability without visual weight. Slightly higher backrests add to the comfort.
Newly upholstered in a deep-toned Navy, soft-to-the-touch, fabric, the seat adds contrast and comfort, completing a piece that works equally well around a dining table or as part of a mixed seating arrangement.
Though they have stood the test of time, they are slightly more refined in their build. This is not a heavy-duty chair designed for excessive weight or misuse, but rather a piece intended for considered, everyday use. Now well over 60 years old, it carries both the elegance and limitations of its era.
Fully restored, stripped to reveal the glorious woodgrain, and resealed, ready for its next lifetime.

Good restored condition. Each chair was stripped, sanded, and resealed. Joints stabilized, and new upholstery on the seats.
