A gorgeous Mid Century Sapele Mahogany 7 piece dining set. Makers mark is not intact but all information points to it being locally manufactured by Duros during the late 60s. High-quality craftsmanship is evident and note the unique shape of the table's side profile with the elegant shape of the wooden frames of the chairs. The beautiful clean lines will fit perfectly with any interior design style and stand the test of time.
The table and wooden chair frames have been restored and sealed and new foam and upholstery added in a midnight blue color from Home Fabrics with built-in FibreGuard technology to make them both stain-resistant and durable. The set is in excellent restored condition, with minor marks considering its age.
Chairs work out to around R1890 each and the table to around R6500, but as a set, it is selling for R17400.00
Table: 92,5cm W X 168,6cm D X 75,6cm H
Chairs: 45,1cm W X 46cm D X 85,5cm H
As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
