A beautiful mid-century modern Danish-made, surfboard-style coffee table by Grete Jalk for Glostrup. The perfect length to pair with an extra-long sofa. Features a surfboard style top with a solid teak edge trim, that runs the length of the table's upper ridge, enhancing the sleek profile with the middle section in a teak veneer. A unique slatted lower-level floating shelf adds additional space for storage. The table rests on stylish tapered solid teak legs.
The wood has been restored and sealed - there is a slight lift in the veneer in some parts consistent with its vintage age, but it does not impact this beautiful table overall. Priced accordingly (considering this is Danish-made). Available in-store to view.

As with mostly all Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. Quality old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
