Finding vintage Danish Modern dining chairs like these is already a rare treat, but finding a matching set of ten makes this an exceptional find. The price is for the set of 10 chairs.
A striking set of ten vintage dining chairs, showcasing the timeless appeal of Danish Modern design. Believed to be crafted in rosewood, the chairs feature rich, warm timber tones, elegantly curved upholstered backrests, and slender tapered legs. The gently contoured seats and refined proportions reflect the craftsmanship and thoughtful design associated with Scandinavian furniture of the 1950s and 1960s.
Danish furniture played a defining role in the Scandinavian Modern movement, gaining international recognition for its balance of simplicity, comfort and functionality. This set captures that design philosophy, with its graceful silhouettes, subtle curves and understated detailing.
The chairs retain their original coated wood finish, which has been carefully touched up where necessary to preserve their authentic vintage character. All ten chairs remain structurally sound.
An opportunity to make this set your own. Rather than replacing upholstery that remains in good, usable condition, we have intentionally retained the existing fabric. Upholstered in a grey with a very subtle blue undertone, the chairs are ready to be enjoyed as they are. Alternatively, the next owner has the freedom to select a fabric and colour palette of their choice, creating a bespoke set of ten chairs perfectly suited to their interior. This flexibility is particularly appealing for a complete set of this size.
We have found international listings of similar chairs priced at €550 each, equivalent to approximately R10,200 per chair, or R102,000 for a set of ten, at the current exchange rate. This provides an interesting indication of their value in the international vintage furniture market.
