A beautifully crafted, Mid-Century “Artecasa” sideboard in solid Kiaat. The Artecasa factory was established by the Italian Maraschino brothers in Johannesburg and produced some of the best local cabinetry during the Mid-Century period.
The sideboard has two cabinet doors revealing shelved storage, three drawers inclusive of two cutlery drawers with ample space provided in the last, deeper drawer.
Truly a timeless piece with sunken handles!
The wood has been fully refurbished back to the bare wood, resealed and the sideboard is in excellent restored condition.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
