A rare, sought-after Ercol set with exquisite form. A Mid-Century Ercol, solid Elm and Beechwood dining set.
The elegant table, one of Ercols most ingenious designs, the 'Ercol Grand Windsor Model 444" dining table is extendable with a solid Elmwood top and solid Beech splayed legs. The matching chairs are from the 'Ercol Windsor Goldsmith Model 369 range and the set date back to the 1960s.
It consists of an extendable table (over 2m when extended) with round edges and six spindle back chairs of which two are carvers with armrests. The 5th leg creates additional support when fully extended. Ercol is a British furniture manufacturer that started producing quality bentwood furniture in the 1920s.
The chairs are elegant, stylish and comfortable due to the high, slightly tilted backrests, made from solid beechwood throughout. The six-seater table can easily seat eight to ten people once extended. It has the original, removable (and stored underneath the top), double-hinged extension leaf intact.
The wood has been carefully restored to maintain the original look and the set is in excellent vintage condition.
