The Dresser & Stool are sold separately
A beautifully proportioned compact dresser, crafted in beechwood and designed with refined simplicity. Its clean lines, softly rounded edges, and tapered legs reflect the elegant functionality typical of Scandinavian modern design from the late 1950s to early 1960s.
Likely of Danish or Swedish origin, the piece echoes the craftsmanship of makers such as Arne Wahl Iversen, AB Carlström & Co., and Brouer Møbelfabrik, known for creating light, functional furniture that balances form and purpose.
The dresser has been fully restored, bringing out the warmth and grain of the beechwood while preserving its mid-century character. The lift-top reveals a generous storage compartment fitted with a new mirror, making it ideal as a dressing or vanity table. When closed, the clean surface functions beautifully as a writing desk or console. The left side features a drawer, perfectly hidden.
A timeless example of Scandinavian restraint and craftsmanship — restored, refreshed, and ready for modern living.
For a fresh, contemporary touch, this restored dresser is paired with a modern "Haus by Hertex" stool in “Ash”, featuring high-density foam cushioning for lasting comfort, a compact, versatile shape, and stylish textured upholstery in a sophisticated neutral tone. We’ve included this stool in the set at a price below its usual retail value of R2 800, offering even better overall value.
This pairing blends mid-century heritage with modern comfort, making it ready for everyday use.

As with many Mid-Century pieces, this item features a thoughtful combination of solid wood and high-quality wood veneer. Veneer has a long and respected tradition in furniture making, valued for both its aesthetic and structural benefits. When crafted with skill and applied in substantial thickness, vintage veneer proves highly durable, allowing for careful restoration, including retouching, sanding, and refinishing without compromising the integrity of the piece.
