A rare find in this stylish mid-century office desk that "floats" in a Teak frame with solid Teak sculpted legs. It has three drawers in front and an open hanging shelf for further storage or display. The back of the desk offers a bookshelf and storage space with a sliding door, and can therefore be placed centered in your space ensuring visual appeal from any angle.
The manufacturer's mark is visible at the bottom - OMF (Ontwerpbureau Meubelindustrie Friesland) was a Dutch furniture manufacturer from the 1950s known for its principles of Bauhaus design and the Scandinavian Modern movement, emphasizing clean lines, and minimalism. The company prioritised functionality and durability, appealing to practical-minded consumers.
The rich Teak wood tones of the desk and frame have been carefully restored to enhance the original look and are in great vintage condition. Only sections underneath were left in their original form to maintain the desk's integrity & originality and re-sealed for future use. Very minor signs of wear here and there, consistent with age and use.
66cm D x 123cm W (130cm width with floating legs on the side) X 76cm H.
