A fantastic Mid-Century headboard with a beautiful solid Sapele mahogany carved-detail headrest section & two wood veneered-top pedestals. This piece was likely manufactured by the renowned South African, DS Vorster & Co., during the '60s. The pedestals are attached to the headboard.
New contemporary handles have been added to the drawers.
The wood has been fully restored, and it is in overall great condition with some minor wear here and there. The entire set was coated in white enamel paint.

Excellent restored condition - a few minor age-related marks here and there.

Overall: 252.5cm W X 40.5cm D X 102cm H
Width Between Pedestals: 157 cm — suitable for a queen-size mattress.
If you wish to convert it to fit a king-size mattress, the pedestals can be moved slightly outward and re-fastened. This adjustment increases the inner width to approximately 193 cm.
Please note: in doing so, each pedestal would be secured with four (instead of six) screws, and the outer edges will extend slightly beyond the headboard frame. This modification should not significantly affect the stability or appearance of the piece.
For custom adjustments, we recommend that this alteration be carried out by the client or their appointed handyman, as we prefer to preserve the piece in its current restored condition.
