An amazing Mid-Century dining set designed by John Herbert for A.Younger displaying great design elements and the gorgeous solid Afromosia and Teak woodgrain is noticeable.
This dining set consists of 4 dining chairs and a dining table, that has two extendable panels that tuck neatly under the table and can be pulled out to accommodate a larger setting. Perfect piece for most interior spaces.
This dining set was part of the 'Volay' series that had been designed and produced from 1956 to 1965. These were made from solid afrormosia. The dining chairs are super comfortable and have a slightly better make than other chairs made in that period.
The seats have been covered in a rich terracotta color Hertex fabric & the wooden frames of the chairs have been fully restored, refinished, and sealed.
A great set to own that will never be out of fashion.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness the quality of the old veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
