A beautiful 7 piece, Sapele Mahogany dining set made locally during the 60's by John Tabraham for Kallenbach. The table has the distinctive clean lines with a sturdy base and a curved support between the table legs .
The 6, solid Mahogany chairs have been re-upholstered in a soft yellow fabric with new foam. They have beautiful spindle support. The wood work on the set has been fully restored and refurbished and is in excellent vintage condition, with a few marks here and there.
As with mostly all Mid-Century pieces it is a good combination of solid wood & a high quality wood veneer. Quality old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
