A Mid-Century sideboard crafted by John Tabraham for Kallenbach. A great example of the elegant and functional design ethos of the 1960s. It was manufactured in South Africa. Kallenbach had a reputation for producing high-quality furniture during this era.
The sideboard's design is characterized by its clean lines and timeless aesthetic, making it adaptable to various interior styles. Its versatile design ensures that it can complement both modern and vintage decor schemes seamlessly.
Featuring two doors with shelved cabinet spaces on each side, two drawers, and a two-door, centered cabinet below the drawers. This sideboard offers ample storage space while maintaining its sleek appearance. The combination of Sapele and mahogany woods adds warmth and richness to its overall look, enhancing its appeal. Slightly taller than standard sideboards, this design facilitates easier access and serves well as a TV unit.
The wood has been fully restored & refinished and is in fantastic restored condition.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness the quality of the old veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
