A stunning writing bureau with a drop/fall-fronted door. The drop-fronted door offers a functional workspace when open, and the multiple compartments and the two small drawers provide good storage. Once the front door is pulled open, it automatically extends the side supports needed for the writing /working surface. Note the gorgeous handles.

In addition to these areas, it has three additional drawers for additional storage! The fully restored and sealed wood, adds to its charm, maintaining its vintage appeal while ensuring durability. This manufacturer's label is unfortunately no longer intact, however, the origin seems not to be local.

The vinal inlay on the inside surface area has been thoroughly cleaned, but bears age related wear. Still, very much usable in its current condition.

76cm W X 42,5cm D X 102,5cm H

Floor to drop-front door:  73cm H

Note/Disclaimer:

Although all effort is made to refurbish our furniture to best represent its original state, it must be noted that most of the items we source date between the 1950s to the late 1970s. For this reason and although restored, signs of their vintage condition & age might still be visible. We will normally point out any visible/notable concerns. Take note of all photos or view the item in-store before purchasing.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the veneer's artistry, condition, and thickness. The quality of the veneer was long-lasting; for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished.
