A beautifully designed and crafted 1960s desk/dresser manufactured by British furniture makers 'Meredew'. Featuring a simplistic design with two good-sized drawers and a door, oak veneer exterior and solid oak legs and parts have been Duco'd in white to enhance the shape and give the piece a true modernist aesthetic.
It can also be used as a dresser (what we believe the original intent was) with a wall-mounted mirror. In great restored condition with a few marks as to be expected for its age.
The centre space between the side cabinet and drawers is not huge, take note of the dimensions, but once seated a chair is seldom pushed in underneath.

As with mostly all Mid-Century pieces it is a good combination of solid wood AND a high quality wood veneer. Quality old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
