The price is for the set:
These sculptural tulip-style armchairs are inspired by Eero Saarinen’s iconic 1956 design for Knoll, part of his groundbreaking “Pedestal” collection. Dating from the 1970s to early 1980s, this set features the signature single pedestal base in glossy white, paired with molded bucket seats that gently wrap the body.
The chairs have been reupholstered in a Hertex premium fabric, showcasing a restrained aqua blue geometric textured pattern that adds visual interest without overpowering the form. This fresh yet sophisticated palette brings a contemporary edge to a classic design.
While unmarked, similar models were produced by mid-century manufacturers such as Arkana (UK) and Burke Inc. (USA), as well as local South African producers. A perfect union of comfort, design history, and timeless style. Note the table in some of the photos is sold separately.
Condition:
The outer shells have been carefully restored where needed, though a few subtle marks remain here & there, a gentle nod to their vintage character and decades of use.3 Chairs do swivel.
