Once used to organise catalogues, records, or archives, pieces of this scale and quality are becoming increasingly difficult to find and incredibly useful for wine storage, for example.

Crafted from solid timber throughout, the cabinet showcases exceptional traditional joinery, with exposed round dowel plugs visible along the sides and top, a detail that speaks to the care and craftsmanship invested in its construction. Each drawer still retains its original adjustable wooden block stopper system, designed to control how far the drawer can be withdrawn.
The drawers are surprisingly versatile and comfortably accommodate wine bottles, making the piece equally suited as a statement drinks cabinet, collectors' storage unit, apothecary cabinet, craft organiser, or distinctive entrance piece.
Exceptionally heavy and solid. To adapt it for modern interiors, a set of understated black hairpin legs has been added, elevating the cabinet to a comfortable height while lending it a subtle contemporary contrast. At first glance, before restoration, the cabinet appeared visually too low and flat to the floor.
A characterful and increasingly scarce piece that combines practical storage with authentic institutional heritage. Light age-related patina remains, consistent with its vintage origin, and adds to its authenticity.
Condition:
Fully restored and in very good overall condition, with minor imperfections professionally addressed. Traces of age-related wear remain consistent with it's very vintage age.
Note: The cabinet is extremely heavy due to the solid wood construction.
