A high quality LC4 Chaise Longue after the iconic 1928 design by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. Often described as the ultimate “relaxing machine", the LC4 remains one of the defining icons of modernist furniture design.
Conceived in 1928, it embodied a radical shift in furniture design by placing comfort, ergonomics, and function at the forefront. While the design is most commonly associated with Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand's pioneering contribution was instrumental in creating one of the twentieth century's most celebrated furniture designs.
This well executed replica faithfully echoes the construction and comfort of the original. Upholstered in genuine hair on bovine hide with a black leather headrest and suspended elastic webbing support, it follows the body's natural contours while allowing the reclining frame to glide effortlessly across its fixed black steel base for exceptional comfort and support. The suspended elastic webbing support remains firm and evenly tensioned, reflecting the construction found in higher-quality LC4 replicas.
Both sculptural and highly functional, the LC4 is as striking today as it was nearly a century ago. Whether placed in a contemporary interior or alongside Mid Century classics, it remains a timeless statement piece that embodies innovation, craftsmanship, and enduring design.
Condition:
The chaise is in very good vintage condition. The chrome plated tubular steel frame has been carefully cleaned, while the hair on bovine hide and leather headrest remain in great overall condition.
Light age related wear is present to the leather bolster, and some fading to the bovine hide towards the bottom, adding character without detracting from its overall presentation.
All four foot pads are intact, and the elastic webbing support remains firm and evenly tensioned.

Note/Disclaimer:
Our images form part of the item description. While we make every effort to restore our furniture to its original state, most pieces date from the 1950s to the late 1970s. As a result, and despite restoration, signs of their vintage nature and previous life may still be visible. Light traces of restoration may remain visible, consistent with authentic vintage furniture. In some cases, minor adjustments may also have been made during the restoration process to ensure the piece remains functional and usable. We will point out any notable aspects where possible. We encourage in-store viewing or careful review of photographs before purchase.
