This compact mahogany dining set, comprising a table and six chairs, is defined by its elegant wishbone leg design, a form that became especially popular during the mid-century period from the 1950s through to the 1960s. Favoured by designers across Scandinavia, Britain, parts of Europe, and South Africa, the wishbone structure reflects a shift toward organic shapes and sculptural timber construction, blending traditional craftsmanship with modernist ideals.
Celebrated for its strength and visual lightness, the design elevates the set beyond simple utility. Fully restored, the table highlights the rich warmth of the mahogany, while the chairs have been carefully refurbished and newly upholstered in a tactile green fabric from Hertex Fabrics, offering comfort and a refined contemporary contrast. (Very good accessible price where chairs are priced just over R2200 each (fully restored and new upholstery), and the table at R6500 (fully restored).

Fully restored and refinished, and in very good condition, ready to bring new life to its next home. This is a refined set designed for considered, everyday use. As with many finely proportioned vintage chairs, it is best suited to normal seated use rather than heavy or rough handling, to ensure its longevity.
