An extremely rare and highly collectible piece, this Sandro Petti coffee table represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors of Italian mid-century design. Internationally, examples of Petti’s work command extraordinary prices, and this model, with its square chrome frame, inner solid brass detailing, thick glass top, and architectural X-shaped Lucite base, is among the most sought after. The interplay of transparency, metal, and reflective surfaces gives the table a refined, sculptural presence from every angle.
Note: In keeping with its age, the chrome frame and lucite components show multiple surface scratches from use, and the central cap over the hardware on the X-base has been replaced. These signs are consistent with vintage pieces of this period and do not detract from their display impact. Overall, the table remains in fair condition and presents beautifully.

On the international vintage market, a table like this can retail between $3,400 & $7500 (that is between R57000 and R127000!!!), but this is not realistic, especially considering the age-related scuff marks and condition of this piece, and the price has been adjusted accordingly. Attributed based on archival research.
Condition:
The chrome frame and lucite components show multiple surface scratches and grazes. These marks are difficult to photograph accurately, as the reflective surfaces pick up everything in the background, making the grazes appear less clear than they are in person. The table has been thoroughly cleaned and polished where needed to present at its very best, but if you are unsure, an in-person viewing is recommended.
