A beautifully made vintage wardrobe produced by AustinSuite of London, one of Britain’s most respected furniture manufacturers during the mid-century period. Founded in the early twentieth century, AustinSuite became widely known during the 1950s and 1960s for producing exceptionally practical bedroom furniture with clean modern lines and carefully considered interiors.
Their wardrobes were designed not only for storage, but for everyday efficiency, often incorporating specialised compartments for clothing, accessories and personal items. These pieces reflect that philosophy perfectly.
The softly sculpted edge detail along the top and sides speaks to the precision and quality of AustinSuite craftsmanship.
The two wardrobes share the same refined exterior aesthetic yet offer different interior configurations, making them highly versatile. Both two door, and their sizes and interiors differ.
Warm wood tones and simple, understated hardware allow the craftsmanship and practicality of the design to speak for itself.

Large Wardrobe
The larger wardrobe is designed primarily for hanging garments, making it ideal for coats, jackets and longer clothing.
Inside, a generous hanging section is complemented by additional upper packing space, allowing for folded garments or storage items above the rail. The proportions are spacious and practical, offering excellent everyday usability.
Its clean interior layout makes it a particularly versatile wardrobe that can accommodate a wide range of clothing.
Medium Wardrobe (Gentleman’s Wardrobe)
The medium wardrobe is configured as a classic gentleman’s wardrobe, designed with a remarkable level of organisation in mind.
Inside, a series of dedicated shelves is clearly marked for specific garments and accessories including shirts, underwear, pyjamas and sundries. Additional compartments are provided for ties and cufflinks (studs), reflecting the thoughtful functionality typical of AustinSuite designs from the period.
Each shelf features a subtle lip detail, preventing items from sliding forward while adding a refined design element to the interior.
This wardrobe offers exceptional storage organisation and is a wonderful example of mid-century practical design.
Condition:
Carefully restored, with more intensive repairs undertaken to the sides and lower sections of each wardrobe. They now present beautifully overall, though some traces of these repairs remain visible in places along the lower side panels. Overall, not very noticeable. Priced accordingly.
