A mid-century Mahogany headboard with pedestals to fit a queen size bed, manufactured locally by Novocraft during the 60's. This renowned SA manufacturer was responsible for great quality and Scandinavian style designed furniture. The pedestals are attached to the headboard.
Please note the height of the headboard since modern base sets might be high in comparison. Both the headboard and pedestals were fully refurbished and is in superb condition.
As with mostly all Mid-Century pieces it is a good combination of solid wood & a high quality wood veneer. Quality old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
