A beautifully resolved framed privacy screen | room divider, combining warm, Solid Kiaat with richly textured woven fabric in layered earthy stripes. The piece carries a calm, presence, balancing function and decoration with ease. Its generous scale allows it to work comfortably as a room divider, backdrop, or soft spatial partition, while the woven textile introduces warmth and tactility often missing in more rigid interior elements.
The solid timber frame has been carefully constructed with clean mitred corners and grounded feet, giving the piece stability without unnecessary heaviness. Privacy screens, also referred to as room dividers or folding screens, became especially popular from the 1950s through to the 1970s in both modernist and mid-century interiors. They were used to softly divide open-plan living spaces, create changing areas in bedrooms, shield seating corners, or simply introduce texture and visual separation without the permanence of walls.
