A vintage library card catalog drawer cabinet. 15 drawers and adjustable spacers inside the drawers. Over the past couple of decades, as the nation’s libraries switched to computer systems for tracking their collections, these cabinets became redundant. Hard to find nowadays, many individuals recognized the excellent decorative (and functional) potential of these cabinets.
Perfect to stow away and categorize hobby materials, cd storage, wine storage, shop display, etc. In mostly solid oak with a solid pine inner frame (one base only) with oak veneered sides & top. Some of the veneers were rather damaged but restored to the best of our abilities and the top was painted in a stone color as per photos.
The cabinet is in overall good restored condition.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition, and thickness of the veneer itself.
