Beautiful 'Torrente' made dining set with eight dining chairs and an extendable table. The wood has a lovely grain in Teak and the frames are some of the most solid dining chairs made during the 60s in South Africa. A true craftsmanship masterpiece.
This set would compliment most interior styles and it is in superb restored condition. The wood had been restored and sealed and the seats re-upholstered in Hertex fabrics.
There are eight chairs with this set, however the table extends to seat six perfectly. The additional two chairs can be added where needed when you need to entertain more than six guests.
These sets seem to have been manufactured with a combination of solid teak/kiaat combination.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer. The quality, old veneer was long-lasting and for this reason, it can be retouched or sanded and refinished. The history of veneer on furniture is a long and honorable tradition, and it depends on the workmanship, condition and thickness of the veneer itself.
